Driver tensioning Slide & Carry straps from ground level on a loaded curtainsider
LRBS VBRS Slide & Carry

Roof-retractable
load securing

Unused straps, 300 mm kites or nets retract under the roof. The driver positions and tensions from ground level, from either side of the trailer — no throwing webbing over the load.

Advantages

Built the way European fleets specify

Same job as a roof expander system: restraints stay on the vehicle, ready to hand, and disappear into the cant rail when the bay is empty.

Space-saving stowage

Fits up into the cant rail. Loading height is preserved; unused webbing is clipped so it cannot droop into the cargo space.

Ready to hand

Straps, kites or nets travel the roof track. No kit left on the yard, no climbing the load to throw webbing over.

Fast positioning

Move one assembly or the whole set along the trailer with very little effort — from either side, at ground level.

Lower accident risk

One-person operation. No throwing, no roof walking, fewer climbs. Designed around daily collection and drop-off speed.

Flexible restraint types

Standard straps, 300 mm wide kites, or full nets. Same bungee carriage — specified to the freight, not a single SKU.

Transferable

Fully transferable when you change trailers. Step-deck builds need no track under the lower shelf.

UK manufactured

Designed, moulded and assembled in Oswestry. Plastic bearings, injection moulding and CNC under one roof.

Documented method

Supports operator load-securing programmes written to EN 12195-1, VDI 2700 and DVSA guidance. Spec PDFs on this page.

Function

How Slide & Carry works

Each restraint hangs from a bungee carriage that runs in Henderson track. Pull down, tension over the load, clip off. When the bay is empty the assembly retracts under the roof and can be slid clear of the working face.

  • Carriage sits parallel with Henderson track on the cant rail (LRBS) or in vertical roof track (VBRS).
  • Special clips stop straps drooping when the system is not in use.
  • Optional brake roller holds the system and protects it between drops.
  • Typical fit around 20 minutes on a 13.6 m / 44 ft trailer.

Product range

Two track systems. One restraint family.

Specify LRBS or VBRS to match the bodybuilder’s track. Straps, kites and nets are common across both.

Restraint options

Straps. Kites. Nets.

Same carriage, three ways to hold the freight. Mix on a trailer if the load mix needs it.

Standard strap assemblies being tensioned from the ground

Standard straps

Vertical webbing from the roof carriage to the deck. Fastest day-to-day option for palletised general cargo.

  • One-hand pull-down from either side
  • Clips hold webbing clear when stowed
  • 13-set artic / 8-set rigid as standard
Wide kite restraints over palletised cartons in a depot

Wide straps — kites

300 mm wide kites spread the load across the top of the stack. Used on beverages, cartons and light pallet freight.

  • 300 mm kite width
  • Same 13 / 8 assembly counts
  • Shown here on a live UK fleet fit
Net assembly over bagged cargo being tensioned at the trailer side

Net assemblies

Full-width nets for bagged, irregular or multi-pallet stacks that a single strap cannot cover cleanly.

  • Artic: 3 × 5 m × 3 m nets
  • Rigid: 2 × 4 m × 3 m nets
  • Bespoke nets on request

Standards & application

Written for European securing practice

Slide & Carry is complementary load securing equipment for curtain-sider bodies. It is specified as part of a documented securing method — not as a substitute for an EN 12642 body certificate.

  • EN 12195-1 — calculation of securing forces. Operator method statements can include this system as top-tie / over-load restraint.
  • EN 12195-2 — webbing lashings. Strap and net LC is quoted per batch on the order data sheet.
  • VDI 2700 — German Ladungssicherung guideline used by DE/AT/NL fleets and bodybuilders.
  • EN 12642 Code L / XL — body strength. This system installs on L and XL curtainsiders; it does not itself certify the body.
  • DVSA — UK load securing. The original LRBS brief was written so drivers can meet DVSA guidance from the ground.

We do not print a generic LC or “XL certified” mark on this page. European buyers expect the number that belongs to the webbing they receive. Ask for the current EN 12195-2 data with the quote.

What the bodybuilder needs to know

Track is Henderson. Carriage is a moulded bungee block running on plastic bearings. Webbing and nets are specified to the freight.

  • LRBS: 135 × 42 mm envelope on the cant rail
  • VBRS: 115 × 42 mm envelope, vertical roof track
  • Brake roller option for parked / empty running
  • Transferable between trailers in the same fleet
  • In-house SolidWorks if the body is non-standard
